The Library of Michigan Foundation raises private support for special programs, services, and collections of the Library of Michigan. These are important literary pursuits that add significantly to the cultural fabric of Michigan, but are outside what governmental and taxpayer funds support.

The Foundation also manages private funds for the Michigan Braille and Talking Books Library which serves over 11,000 patrons who are visually and/or physically impaired.
