Located 3 blocks SE of Shed 5, Detroit City Distillery is one of the top destination spots in the Eastern Market District.
“Our beverage manager Andre has a wonderful menu of cocktails, including Turn The Page, a Bookfest-exclusive cocktail that you can drink at the distillery or order to-go,” says Alyssa. “We value partnering with Detroit Bookfest for greater community involvement.”
Open since 2014, the Detroit City Distillery Tasting Room is a craft cocktail bar . “We make all of our spirits in-house directly across the street,” says Alyssa. “All of our syrups, kegged cocktails, house ginger beer, tonic and cola are made right here on Riopelle Street.”
The Bookfest celebration is a block party stretching from The Detroit City Distillery Tasting Room down to Eastern Market Brewing Company. “We’ll have outdoor seating, our bar cart serving cocktails, a live DJ, and more,” says Alyssa. “We are so excited for this!”
DCD’s top two bestsellers are the Old Fashioned cocktail and the Rye On Fire cocktail, which has mango habanero in it. And they even have 136 proof Absinthe. They will also have non-alcoholic mocktails for sale.
They will open be Sunday, July 20th, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and they will have DJ Lambchop spinning music from Noon – 5:00 p.m. Come join the fun.
